Zedd and Aloe Blacc perform ‘Candyman’ on Good Morning America
Zedd and Aloe Blacc‘s modern day rendition of Sammy Davis Jr.’s iconic song “Candyman” for M&M’s 75th anniversary has attracted its fair share of attention since being released last month. The former’s experimentation in the future bass space had many fans questioning his divergence into a more commercial sound, with the track even sparking a Twitter skirmish between the Russian-German producer and Diplo. Despite some negative reception, the track has gained traction in the mainstream and recently earned Zedd and Aloe Blacc the opportunity to perform “Candyman” on Good Morning America.
Leaving his MIDI controller in the studio, Anton Zaslavski chose to return to his classical training behind the grand piano to support Blacc’s vocal talents, along with a band of guitarists and horn players. The performance provides a refreshing, organic portrayal of the duo’s remake that contributes to dance music’s exposure among the public eye.
