North Coast Music Festival is making its return on the sprawling grass field of Chicago’s Union Park for the eighth year in a row. The event, which features spectacular views of Chicago’s skyline, will include 80 performances from a multitude of genres across the musical spectrum. Dubbed “Summer’s Last Stand,” NCMF spans three days and will take place over the weekend of September 1-3.
Deadmau5 and Eric Prydz will headline with a coveted b2b set on the first day of the festival, alongside rappers like Lil Dicky and Gucci Mane. Friday will also feature soulful electronic creator Bonobo playing live with a full band, a tantalizing treat for indie-electronic folk. In addition to the above, Boston-based funk family LETTUCE and hip hop instrumentalists Badbadnotgood round out the Friday lineup.
North Coast’s second day will see performances from half of the legendary hip hop duo Outkast, Big Boi, a rap performance from melodic hip-hop sensation Post Malone, and many more. Attendees can also look forward to dance music icon Don Diablo and acclaimed R&B storytellers Tank and the Bangas. Completing the Saturday show will be A Tribe Called Red, Whethan, Spafford, Goldfish, and more.
Day 3 will be graced by performances from U.K. grime figurehead Skepta, prominent dance music duo Hippie Sabotage, and three more surprise guests. Other acts include creator of the West Coast’s HARD creator Destructo, hip hop originators The Cool Kids, and additional sets by acts Elephante, Kasbo, and more.
