Gabriela Francesca – ‘Hallucinate‘ – Indie-pop artist Gabriela Francesca is less than a week away from dropping her first release of original music this year. The upcoming single ‘Hallucinate‘ is her self-written tribute to ‘half-relationships’ and the struggle of getting over losing someone you never really had in the first place. The fizzy pop anthem, out May 21st, is the first original collaboration between Gabriela and LA-based producer Geo. Since the conception of ‘Hallucinate,’ the pair have gone on to write the rest of Gabriela‘s EP, set to release in late summer.
Though her pastel pink pixie-cut is new, Gabriela‘s dedication to soaring, bespoke melodies and personal lyrics remains as consistent as it’s always been. The new single marries her undeniable skill for lyrical storytelling with a topline that highlights all the sweet spots of her clean and acrobatic voice. Her new whimsical pop sound is inspired by her love of anime and 80’s nostalgia, and is reminiscent of MØ, Ellie Goulding and Kehlani.
A native Chicagoan raised in a Mexican-American family, Gabriela Francesca Carrillo goes by her first and middle name as an artist-songwriter living and working in Los Angeles. Her past releases have gained her ranks on Spotify’s Hipnotrix and Fresh Finds playlists and performances on stages like the Resident in Los Angeles, C3 Rooftop in Guadalajara, MX and the Roman Arena in Bucharest, Romania.
