Above & Beyond Discuss New Album

Above & Beyond Group Therapy 250

As their monumental Group Therapy 250 show approaches in about a month, Above & Beyond have been working hard on their next artist album. In a recent interview, Tony McGuinness, one third of the Above & Beyond, sat down with Irish News to discuss the upcoming album along with their success in the U.S.

For over a decade, Above & Beyond have built themselves into one of the biggest names in dance music. One of the key factors, as said by Tony, is their heightened popularity in the United States. They became the first UK dance group to sell out both Madison Square Garden and The Forum in Los Angeles. It only makes sense that their next milestone show be at the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington State.

If the past has taught us anything, we should expect a flurry of new material at ABGT 250. Perhaps some new material from their upcoming album. When asked if the album is coming together, Tony replied,

“IT IS. IT’S ONE OF THOSE THINGS WHERE THE FIRST 90 PER CENT TAKES HALF THE TIME AND THEN THE LAST 10 PER CENT TAKES HALF THE TIME. I THINK WE’RE IN THAT LATTER STAGE NOW. I’M IN THE STUDIO THIS WEEK AND WE’RE HOPING TO GET IT FINISHED BY THE AUTUMN FOR RELEASE NEXT YEAR. WE’LL BE PUTTING OUT A FEW TRACKS BEFORE THEN THOUGH.”

Fans’ eyes should be lighting up.

Back in 2014, Above & Beyond graced Madison Square Garden with their 100th Group Therapy show. Here, they announced their new artist album, We Are All We Need and premiered some new tracks from the album. Flash forward to 2017, A&B return to the states for their 250thshow with another new album in the works. Sometimes history has a way of repeating itself.

No exact date has been announced yet for the new album or a name for the album. But if you know Above & Beyond, the title and songs will surely be “heartfelt, emotional, and tinged with sadness”. We’ll make sure to keep our eyes open for any news about the album and make sure to catch Above & Beyond in the U.S in the fall. Meanwhile, you can read the full interview here.
