When asked about the inspiration behind the video, Era shared, “I started loving reggae music when I was 16, and that led me to go visit Jamaica and shoot the video there. I had an incredible time whilst I was there and the vibe on the video was perfect! Prisoner is the kinda song you love hearing because of the beautiful melancholic melodies and the happy reggae beat. At the same time the lyrics talk about me not wanting to take, or be no prisoner. I’m so happy to release it! And excited as well. The daughter of Suzana Tahirsylaj, a well known Albanian singer in the 80s and 90s, music is in Era’s blood. She’s rapidly built an impressive, Global following with her signature sound that fuses influences from pop, reggae, drum & bass, and future bass.

Generating millions of streams and over half a billion views on YouTube, Era has captivated audiences with her alluring voice, which seamlessly alternates back and forth between her native language, Albanian, and English. Her most successful single to date, “Bonbon,” is certified Gold in the Netherlands, Germany, and Canada. It has garnered over 500 million YouTube plays, 100 million Spotify streams, and topped the Shazam, Spotify, and iTunes charts in Europe while gaining international acclaim.

These early milestones lead to Era signing with Ultra Music. Her first release with the label, “Redrum” featuring Felix Snow, hit #45 on the US Billboard Dance chart. Her success continued with the release of electro-pop single “No I Love Yous” featuring Grammy-nominated, Moroccan-American hip-hop artist, French Montana.

With more memorable music on the horizon, the world is watching as Era steps into the spotlight.
