Montreal duo Paris & Simo have an undisputed following of fans, but their recent music shows how the pair are moving into new territory – and conquering it too. Their latest track sees them enlist the talents of fellow Canadians DLMT and Pony on Let’s Chat, out now on Tiësto’s label imprint, AFTR:HRS.
Combining a chilled guitar riff in the background of Pony’s lustrous vocal, Let’s Chat quickly builds and throws us into a new realm of electro house. Driven by a strong melody and story, it’s a finger-snapping track that crosses over and is sure to have wide appeal.
Paris & Simo say: “The idea started while we were all in the studio working, we got together late one night and Pony started freestyling on a simple bassline we had written. The idea we had initially was completely different than what we ended up with, but that’s the beauty of music. We eventually bounced ideas back and forth and ‘Let’s Chat’ came to be.”
Paris & Simo have gathered fans from around the globe since touring with David Guetta and playing renowned stages including Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, Tomorrowland and Pier 94.
Since embarking on pushing a new sound, their recent release Evermore won a premiere on Pete Tong’s prestigious BBC Radio 1 show and Let’s Chat builds on the momentum surrounding the exciting new direction.
Toronto based DJ DLMT’s background is as a member of numerous bands, which explains the unique groove and intricacies of his emotion-driven music. Now heavily grounded in the dance music scene, DLMT has toured Europe and earned major label recognition for his tracks.
Singer and rapper Pony – also from Montreal – has been releasing tracks like “Freak Out”, “Sex (I’m An Addict)”, “Pretty Muthafucka” and “Ice Cream” with The Fitness under the guidance of house producers Soul Clap and Wolf and Lamb, bringing an extra dimension to Let’s Chat.
