French producer, composer, and songwriter Petit Biscuit blends chill electronic soundscapes with glitchy bass undertones to confront the impact between analog and digital on his new single, “Wide Awake”. His delicate vocals are front and center as he not only explores the aforementioned conflict, but “how even a man that seemingly has no fear, simply hides it deep inside.” It also comes equipped with a mesmerizing music video where CGI gradually transforms to live action, framing the themes of “Wide Awake” in stunning fashion — watch HERE.
Petit Biscuit, born Mehdi Benjelloun, explains in further detail: “I wanted ‘Wide Awake’ to be a track that defies genres…it encompasses an audacious blend of my world music and chill universe, that ends up completely broken up by bass music. Like a relentless battle between nature and digital.”
A multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer, Petit Biscuit has converted his classically trained talents into critical acclaim over the course of his career. With a debut album, Presence, that charted worldwide in 2017, he’s also wowed audiences on the live circuit with performances at the likes of Coachella, Lollapalooza, HARD, and more. He recently completed his most extensive tour to date with sold out dates in Boston, NYC, Vancouver, Seattle and Los Angeles.
Other highlights of Petit Biscuit’s career include over half a billion Spotify streams, being awarded best live performer at the NRJ DJ Awards 2018, a primetime national TV performance on the esteemed French music award ceremony, Les Victoires de la Musique 2018, covering Phoenix’s “1901” on triple j’s essential Like A Version series, and international radio support from SiriusXM Chill to Triple J.
