French duo SQWAD has been steadily making waves in the Bass House scene since they launched in 2015. Consisting of high school friends Etienne and Antoine, the pair from Toulouse, France first made a buzz in 2017 on Tony Romera’s imprint, SANS MERCI, with their single “Damn Right”. The track was supported by JAUZ, Habstrakt, Ekali, NGHTMRE & Slander, just to name a few.
Today, SQWAD releases their new remix of Habstrakt and josh pan‘s “Movie,” giving a groove/tech house update to Habstrakt’s 2018 basshouse original, out now and streaming everywhere via Mad Decent.
In 2018 they were asked to remix Zeds Dead & JAUZ on the “Lights Go Down” Remix pack alongside artists such as Sikdope, Gentlemans Club and Subtronics. This in turn led to gigs and shows for the pair who shared stages with Taiki Nulight, Getter, Tony Romera, Sikdope, Bellecour and Badjokes.
2019 is already a promising year for SQWAD, already scheduled for several festivals, they are signing quality releases with labels such as Mad Decent, Monstercat and will soon join AC Slater’s Night Bass team.
