LA-based duo 29 Palms (Ooah and Boreta of The Glitch Mob) are kicking off 2020 by unveiling their 4-song EP, Nobody Horizon – their first official release under this moniker. Both the EP and project are a complete sonic departure from their previous catalogue as The Glitch Mob. Nobody Horizon – EP is available now across all platforms via Glass Air Records.
The EP introduces the listener to 29 Palms via Microdusk, a nine-and-a-half minute track with tribal undertones that are at first soothing, but are progressively increasing in edge. The journey seamlessly transitions into Metaverse Satellite, colored by a consistent bassline and rolling synths. El Circo ups the stakes slightly with an unsettling, industrial tone that immediately captivates. The journey ends with the cinematic Nobody Horizon – the quest-ike bookend to the EP marked by intricate percussive elements and cryptic vocals.
“29 Palms is a passion project we have been working on in the background for years now, so we are excited to have the first original music out in the world. It is a psychedelic sound experiment based in the love of the hypnotic side of dance music.” – 29 Palms (Ooah + Boreta)
The duo has already left an indelible mark on the festival circuit over the past year, with oft-talked about sets at Lightning in a Bottle, Deja Voom, Electric Forest, and Coachella.
For lovers of the genre, 29 Palms is already planning a follow-up release in the coming weeks as well as a virtual live performance.
