After garnering over 12 million streams for his wonderfully weird ‘I’m Sorry’ video featuring actor/comedian Tom Green (see it here) and acclaim for his new single and video ‘Dark Highway’, Riotron returns with a sensuous slowing burning remix of ‘Dark Highway’ by Grammy nominated DJ/producer Wuki, whose star-studded resume includes remixes for The Chainsmokers, Kill The Noise, RL Grime and Galantis, and releases on Mad Decent, OWSLA and FADER label. In the words of Riotron’s Jeff Fettes, “I love working with Wuki because he’s an artist himself. He’s not afraid to take risks and he never goes for the obvious choice. He wants to surprise people with a new take they haven’t heard before.”
Released on Halloween, the original version of ‘Dark Highway’ was accompanied by a cinematically lush video directed by Gianennio Salucci and produced by Jennifer Goodridge (who’s worked with Melanie Martinez, George Ezra and Poppy). ‘Dark Highway’ follows the thumping remix of Riotron’s ‘Light Go Out’ by Grammy-nominated swag house duo Black Caviar, whose track ‘Whats Up Danger’ from the Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse soundtrack recently surpassed 100 million streams. ‘Lights Go Out The Black Caviar Remix’ received accolades in tastemaking blog This Song Is Sick and co-signs from Marshmello, R3HAB and Spotify’s tastemaking Friday Cratediggers playlist.
The brainchild of singer/songwriter Jeff Fettes, Riotron is an electro-pop project from Winnipeg, Canada that combines elements of 80s synthwave, EDM and even some jazz into a unique sound. The name is derived from the hit song ‘Rio’ by Duran Duran and the 1982 fantasy sci-fi film Tron. Look for more music and stunning visuals from Riotron coming soon.
