The time has come for Gorje Hewek to release his debut album. Announced today for release on All Day I Dream, ‘Collages’ breaks the surface with ethereal single “Forest Song In The Morning,” which floats along metallic synth flutters, woodwind harmonics, and light vocals to create a sense of uplifting. It’s a fitting preview of the journey Gorje takes his listeners on through the rest of the LP.

‘Collages’ is more than a simple longform project; it’s a glimpse into Gorje Hewek’s psyche. Its writing process began in a time of internal turmoil for the Shanti Radio Moscow co-owner, who felt the external weight of a tumultuous world on his shoulders as he put notes to DAW. This paired with the stresses of wearing multiple hats in the industry spelt a pervading sense of gloom at the time when ‘Collages’ was first conceived.
It was during this writing process, however, that a key life lesson became reaffirmed: that music is truly therapy. As sketches and ideas were drawn into full tracks—each laced with the emotive elements that have brought Hewek to prominence over the years—he felt the weight gradually lifting off of him as a sense of calm took over. Finished ideas capture his gradual hope and optimism, leading to a triumphant finish. There are few things that help ground oneself like music, after all.
‘Collages’ wouldn’t be its full self without the help of Gorje’s friends and fellow production magnates. Listeners can expect to find collaborations with MOS, Lost Desert, and more upon the LP’s full release in April.
Gorje Hewek has become a heavyweight in the organic and melodic house arena of late, finding his way into the All Day I Dream fold during its earlier days and soon becoming an essential member of the label family. His success only skyrocketed from there with the formation of his renowned Shanti Radio Moscow with Izhevski, which has since become a well respected institution of its own with signings from Cornucopia, Tim Green, Simon Vuaramnon, and more. In addition to regular tours around the world and enjoying icon status at Burning Man’s Robot Heart camp, Hewek has also signed his music to Anjunadeep, Rose Avenue, and Watergate Records—to name a few.
A landmark release such as ‘Collages’ couldn’t be timed better, as it arrives in the middle of All Day I Dream’s 10th year. Marking the occasion earlier was Lee Burridge himself with his first and only solo work of the year, ‘LeeeEP.’ The label continues to celebrate its birthday with weekly live streams, which to-date have seen cameos by Hernan Cattaneo, and other prime labelmates like Sébastien Léger and Roy Rosenfeld.
Awaken the senses up with a dose of “Forest Song In The Morning.”
