Loopmasters has announced the latest update to its cloud sampling service Loopcloud. Version 6 sees a new major addition: AI search technology, meaning users can search for samples with more meaningful terms than just bpm and key, such as tone, stereo width, length, swing, rhythmic density, and more. It’s designed to make it easier to find samples that match your current project.
You can also select a new ‘Find Harmonic Matches’ option and “Loopcloud will search through its own library and your collection to find samples and loops that will work seamlessly with your source sound.” Very handy. ‘Find Similar Sounds’ is a similar idea, where you might like aspects of a loop or sound but it’s not quite right. Loopcloud will present a few more alternatives in a similar vein from its library. You can also throw in your own sample libraries to include them in the search.
Elsewhere, Loopcloud 6 has added three new FX: Tonebox, EQ, and compressor. Each can be tweaked or automated across a sample before you buy it, so you can try out new ideas without committing. Once you’re ready to commit, there are new export options, letting you export the original file only, both the original and the processed version, separated files, and more.
