Multi-talented cinematic electronica producer and composer Douran has shared the video for his organic track ‘Midnight Breath’ via Allo Floride Records on the 1st of June. The song is taken from his recently released EP, Avalanche, which contains both the A-side of his original work and a B-side of remixes. Avalanche was preceded by the title-track, accompanied by an exclusive remix by Parisian Electronic/ Dance artist Joachim Pastor as well as ‘Inertia’, accompanied by an exclusive remix by the legendary Brazillian underground artist Gui Boratto. Gui Boratto has credits on countless releases for major and independent record labels and previously worked with Massive Attack, Goldfrapp, Moby and the Pet Shop Boys). The EP also featured unique remixes by Ryan Davis, Koelle and Fluida.

Parisian producer Douran has received support from CLASH Magazine and DJ Mag (France) as well as tastemaker Youtube channels MrSuicideSheep, Dealer de Musique and Progressive Astronaut, to name a few, contributing to his play count of over 2.6 million across streaming platforms. The talented producer has also had his single ‘Race To Infinity’ playlisted by English DJ and producer Nick Warren and has shared a stage with Solumun, Tale Of Us and Henrik Schwarz along with several other well-known producers. Douran draws upon the likes of Johan Johansson, Olafur Arnalds, and David August for inspiration. ‘Midnight Breath’ calls to mind a unique mixture of Hans Zimmer, Moderat and Rone.
Douran allows for minimal distractions in the captivating video for ‘Midnight Breath’. Directed by Pascal Dash, who also directed the live videos for ‘Inertia’ and ‘Avalanche’, the video features a “blank slate” for the background, while the focus is directed to both the uniquely creative music and the dramatic dancing style of Sachiko Ishikawa. The accompanying flautist Victor Maroleau draws the organic elements to the front and centre, reinforced by rolling drums and an irresistible energy created by Douran himself.
Speaking of the video, Douran tells us: “I composed Midnight Breath with a Shakuhachi flautist, using a very special Japanese bamboo flute. We wanted a video that fits the vibe of this track, going a bit further than a classic live session by inviting a Butoh dancer, Sachiko Ishikawa. This performance introduces another part of Japanese culture, since Butoh (also called ‘Dance Experience’, known to resist fixity) was born in the 60s in Japan.”
