UK singer-songwriter Indira May has unveiled her new single ‘When I Hear Music’, out on Friday 25th June.
Characterised by delicate piano chords and Indira’s charming vocals, ‘When I Hear Music’ is a seductive ballad that draws on elements of jazz and soul to deliver something remarkably fresh-sounding. It marks her third single release of 2021, following on from ‘The Lights’ where she linked up with production trio Jaded and ‘What If’, a collaboration with Brighton based artist Dysfunktion.
Drawing inspiration from a wide variety of musical legends, such as Billie Holiday, Jill Scott, Chet Baker, Howlin’ Wolf and many more, Indira May is a singer-songwriter whose captivating melange of jazz, soul and hip-hop has helped her attain the title of ‘one to watch’. She has previously performed at esteemed jazz venue Ronnie Scott’s and garnered support from BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Toddla T, while Indira is also the co-director and founder of TRASH, an independent music label and film production company that’s ‘run by women, for everyone’.
Her third stunning single release in quick succession, ‘When I Hear Music’ is the work of a confident artist on the rise.
