FLYO ‘Keep Your Distance’ EP

Following on from his rebellious single ‘What I Want’ ft. cult UK rap star Suspect, north London producer FLYO continues to underline his reputation as one of the hottest and most underrated artists/producers in the UK scene right now with the release of his third EP in three years, Keep Your Distance – out July 9th.

Featuring further collaborations with the likes of Blade Brown, Juice Menace, Capo Lee, Fatz and J Styles, Keep Your Distance emerges as a signature body of work, finessed, cohesive and confidently held together by the producer’s talent for applying freezing cold, polished instrumentals to the explosive and characterful lyricism of some of the hottest rappers in the scene both emerging and OG status.

‘No Debate’ places Blade Brown and FLYO as authentic pioneers in their field as Brown boldly raps “look at my gram, look at the date, I did it first, they did it late” over a melodic production. Meanwhile, ‘Bumps and Bruises’ features one to watch Welsh rapper Juice Menace reflecting on her experiences and realising her self-worth as she asks “who can do me better than me?”. Throughout Keep Your Distance FLYO balances woozy, codiene-laced instrumentation to harder hitting sounds with the expertise of a producer finding the top of his game, equally capable across a variety of different moods and styles.

With previous collaborations with Ms Banks and Jesse James Solomon adding to support from UK grime and rap icons Skepta and Wretch 32, it’s no surprise that FLYO is a beatmaker in high demand. His finessed, nostalgic approach to street bangers attracting critical support across the likes of COMPLEX, MIXMAG, TRENCH,  CLASH and VIPER is testament to the artist’s versatility and innovation, and the release of Keep Your Distance, keeps FLYO’s status as one of the most respected in the game assured.
