A PROJECT WITH RADA: ‘JOINA’ is the latest release from RADA Unearthed, the music arm of the humanitarian organisation dedicated to spreading messages of love, inspiration, and choice through music, with royalties supporting community projects for positive impact.

Created in collaboration with RADA Unearthed, ‘Joina’ is a powerful call for unity and collective responsibility. The song encourages awareness around substance addiction while offering comfort and healing to those affected by abuse. Rooted in themes of resilience, harmony and restoration, the track reminds listeners that building a prosperous society begins with compassion, action and caring for one another.
iSandi grew up on a farm in the rural Eastern Cape of South Africa, where wide landscapes and close family bonds shaped her creative perspective. Raised by her aunt, who filled her childhood with fairytales, folklore and legends, storytelling became central to her artistic voice. Her interest in music developed during her years at boarding school, where she began writing songs and studying music formally, learning multiple instruments and performing in a band called Kush. Today, iSandi’s music sits at the intersection of storytelling and purpose. Her sound blends Afro-experimental textures with Western harmonic language, creating compositions that encourage reflection, emotional clarity and cross-cultural connection.
iSandi has been affiliated with RADA since 2023 and values the organisation’s approach to combining creativity with community impact. ‘Joina’ also features on the compilation album RADA Unearthed Volume 3, which showcases South African artists sharing messages of inspiration and social awareness through music.
“It is refreshing to see an organisation like RADA use music not just as entertainment, but as a tool for healing, awareness and inspiration,” says iSandi. “RADA shows a genuine commitment to addressing social issues while creating meaningful platforms for artists.”
For iSandi, music carries a deeper responsibility.
“I believe in purpose, responsibility and compassion. Music carries moral weight — it can heal, harm, unite or divide. That belief guides how and why I create.”
Since the release of her debut EP ‘Intyatyambo’ (2022), iSandi has explored themes of growth, humanity and positive change. She has shared stages with acclaimed artists including The Muffinz, Vusi Mahlasela, Bongeziwe Mabandla, Muneyi and Tubatsi Moloi. In 2024 she collaborated with multiple South African artists on the track ‘Together We Are Stronger’, featuring Ramelo, Pedro Barbosa, Lia Elise, Ross Learmonth, SEVVEN, Me-Ko, SONIQUE, SeanJ and Mark Beling, also included on the RADA Unearthed Volume 3 album.
Beyond performance, iSandi is passionate about music education and composition, teaching instruments and theory while creating music for film, yoga and ambient environments. Her YouTube channel, iSandi Ambient Soundscapes, showcases cinematic works designed for calm, reflection and memory, including recent pieces Floating Memories and Once Upon An Autumn.
iSandi is currently preparing to release a new EP later in 2026.
