The young DJ is more than familiar with the venue, after making it his home during last year’s ADE. He will play alongside some of his best friends and colleagues in the industry. Like the previous edition we need to expect the unexpected, when it comes to people dropping by the Woo.

Julian‘s schedule will be insane during this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event. Not only will he be hosting his own night, he’s also bringing a Pop-up store to the city. Where Julian will meet up with fans, drop his latest collaboration with fashion brand Chasin’ and much more.

Boys Noize, British Murder Boys, Gary Beck and many others for Dave Clarke Presents in Melkweg

Dave Clarke Presents will be back at ADE 2017 for it’s 13th edition with a stellar line-up with Boys Noize, Gary Beck, James Ruskin, the comeback of British Murder Boys (Regis & Surgeon), a performance by Lady Starlight and some of the low countries finest with Estroe, Mirella Kroes, Charlotte de Witte and Mr. Jones.

Many know Dave Clarke as the Baron of Techno, but with his ever expanding encyclopedia on everything dance related, he is also the Lord of Electro, with his popular ‘Whip It’ night being one of his most recent endeavors. Whip It proved just how irresistible the electro genre can be, so watch out for that ADE line up announcement.

Who better to headline this edition of Dave Clarke Presents than DJ/producer/label boss Alexander Ridha aka **Boys Noize **who effortlessly merges various styles with influences of hip-hop and disco roots as well as heavy noise and electro house sounds and his sets are equally uplifting, not only technically but also as a showman.

Then there’s the return of the legendary British Muder Boys. The sideproject of Regis and Surgeon was responsible for some legendary performances creating total and utter chaos by drenching their brand of techno in a punk ethos, derailing into a perverse orgy of noise, sex sounds and some heavy percussion. A perfect fit for the American performance artist Lady Starlight, who’s worked before with Surgeon.

Fans of techno will be happy to see the return of Gary Beck. The Scotsman is a fantastic dj and producer, having released productions on renowned labels including Cocoon and Saved with his latest release ‘Famoo Funk’, receiving support from Clarke’s own ‘White Noise’ show and BBC Radio 1.

Then there’s James Ruskin, the versatile Blueprint label boss who is responsible for some of Surgeon, Lakker and Samuel Gerridge’s best tracks. As a dj and producer, he constantly reinvents himself, whether it’s his solo tracks, or the collabs he does with Mark Broom or Regis as O/V/R.

Having made quite the impression at last year’s event, it should come as no surprise to see Charlotte de Witte on the line-up. The Flemish dj and producer found herself embraced by the techno scene in a very short amount of time, largely thanks to her love for the darker side of techno.

The line-up is completed by Dutch techno veterans Mirella Kroes, Estroe and Clarke’s studio buddy Mr. Jones.

About Dave Clarke
Dave Clarke is a DJ with an anarchist streak a mile wide and punk in his soul. Technologically, he’s an early adopter with the studio to prove it, but he also embraces sounds outside the staunch electronic dance remit, from Nick Cave to Savages to old favourites Bauhaus. Such music informs his attitude as, using Serato on a 13” Macbook Pro Retina for his ruthlessly effective, fat-free club sets, he pushes the worldwide boundaries of what techno and electro can be. After a break , recent years have seen him make his presence as a producer felt again, working with Dutch partner Mr Jones (Jonas Uittenbosch) as Unsubscribe and dropping remixes ranging from John Foxx’s seminal synth-pop gem ‘Underpass’ to Gesaffelstein, Detroit Grand Pubas and Octave One. Not a week passes when he doesn’t live up to his nickname, the Baron of Techno, a moniker given him by the late, great BBC Radio DJ John Peel.

It’s easy to get lost in the numbers behind Martin Garrix‘ meteoric rise, the 21 year old Dutch superstar has already set precedents and scored landmarks at every corner of the music industry. Martin has become one of electronic dance music’s youngest superstars, with his 2013 release of his smash hit ‘Animals,’ topping the charts in late 2013 at the age of 17.

Despite all this, he has continued to never let fans down over the last years. With his massive hits including ‘In the Name of Love,’ ‘Scared to be Lonely‘ and his latest collaboration with Troye Sivan ‘There For You,’ he shows to not be slowing down anytime soon.

FIRST ACTS ANNOUNCED FOR ADE LIVE

www.amsterdam-dance-event.nl

After a sold out first edition, ADE LIVE returns to Paradiso, Melkweg and Sugarfactory to showcase the best live electronic music artists. For the second year in a row, the Amsterdam venues join forces with Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) to offer live electronic music a serious spot within the biggest club festival in the world. Among the first artists that will perform on ADE’s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are Fatima Yamaha, Hercules & Love Affair, Anna of the North, Phlake and Vessels

The first edition of ADE LIVE proved that electronic live acts an exciting and growing part of the dance music scene. Adventurous fans and professionals saw talented artists like RÜFUS, HVOB, SUUNS and Jesssy Lanzy burn the house down. They built the foundation for a prominent place within the biggest club-festival of the world. We pick up where we left off, with even more ambition: more venues, more artists and more to discover. In addition to the OZ and Upstairs, Melkweg will open their biggest hall Max and Sugarfactory will also be showcasing on the first night, in addition to the second. Paradiso only used the small room last year, but this year they open up all doors. A statement that shows ADE LIVE deserves to get bigger and the acts more recognition. Expect dark-romantic electro-funk from Fatima Yamaha, also known as Bas Bron, who amassed a cult status with ‘What’s A Girl To Do’ and recently made a comeback with his latest EP ‘Araya’. The nu-disco, house and drop of Techno of Hercules and Love Affair, Arjunadeep’s Cubicolor and the jazzy electro of Marian Hill are just a few of the names we released and know there’s still a lot more to come!

Amsterdam Dance Event Announces 2017 Dates and International Expansion

Paul Bergen/Redferns
Fans in the audience at Amsterdam Dance Event in Heineken Music Hall on Oct. 18, 2015.

The annual gathering of dance artists, fans, and industry reps at the Amsterdam Dance Event has become one of the most favored moments on the electronic calendar. When ADE returns for its 22nd edition Oct. 18 to 22 of 2017, organizers expect 375,000 visitors both from within the Netherlands and from around the globe. It’s become the largest such congregatin in the world.

“Amsterdam is the centre of the global electronic music scene during ADE, a hotbed for cultural and technological innovation,” ADE director Richard Zijlma is quoted in a press release. “It’s amazing to see that thousands of delegates and music enthusiasts are spending more and more time in the city each year.”

Sounds like a good time to expand to overseas markets, so ADE will continue its international growth with ADE Global Sessions Mumbai, India, from Feb 23 to 25, as well as with a showcase at SXSW in Austin, Tx. Mumbai’s Global Sessions will include Q&As, strategy meetings, master classes, plus networking and speed dating events – in case you’re looking for the industry professional of your dreams – and more. ADE will also co-present India’s concurrent Biggest Guestlist Club Festival.
