Lost Frequencies – Tomorrowland 2017 – As Tomorrowland‘s Amicorum Spectaculum opened its gates to record-breaking crowds for its inaugural weekend of 2017, not only did the insane production that the festival has become known to dazzle for, wow crowds beyond belief, but a whole host of electronic music royalty also descended onto the regal town of Boom. From track premieres, special edits saved just for the fields of Tomorrow, as well as multi-faceted mash-ups, the chart-topping, platinum artist Lost Frequencies seemed to capture the attention of those on-site like no other.

Hosting his own Lost Frequencies & Friends stage allowed the producer to perform amongst a cherry-picked bill of top-tier artists including  AxwellFatboy Slim and Sigala, that also led to an official festival road-block as the arena became so packed, before his mainstage set that directly followed after David Guetta on the Sunday of the event in a prime-time slot, became one of the most talked-about solo sets of the year from the Belgian prodigy himself.

Now, presenting one of his only official live sets available online after his hugely well-received Less Is More Lotto Arena ShowLost Frequencies presents a shimmering main stage live set that only further cements his status as a wonderkid for the next generation of music makers. Merging together bombastic bass, melodic flutters of self-proclaimed “indie dance” and stadium-worthy electro, Lost Frequencies dazzled during his third year at Tomorrowland, proving to only get better with age and maturing his sound, yet still retaining an injection of fun and feel-good vibes.

ABOUT DAVE CLARKE
He may be known as The Baron Of Techno, a moniker given to him by renowned BBC Radio DJ / journalist John Peel, but Dave Clarke has an anarchist streak a mile wide and punk in his soul, having no truck with establishment figures or authoritarianism.

A hard working purist, forward thinking futurist, technology geek, part Gothic and gadget lover who embraced the digital revolution in an early stage while his peers where still sniffing the smell of vinyl, a format he hasn’t used professionally in eleven years. It’s unsurprising he revels in the libertarianism of the World Wide Web. It gives symmetry to his savvy techno vision.

As a talented DJ and producer Dave Clarke will continue his newfound love for making music, gather air miles by the gallon and preach his vision on techno both on the decks and on the radio, whilst never forgetting the long and bumpy journey he had to undertake to get where he is now: on top of the game, respected by both fans and peers and very much relevant in today’s scene. “He might be established, but he will never be establishment”. http://www.daveclarke.com/

Tomorrowland's Golden Ticket

The final countdown has already begun and at the end of this month, more than 400,000 people are expected in BoomBelgium, to make history once again at one of the biggest electronic music festivals in the world: Tomorrowland. For the 13th edition, Tomorrowland will take place during 2 weekends (21-23 July and 28-30 July), and, although the tickets sold out in a little over an hour – 64 minutes to be precise -, it has just been announced in their website that there is still another chance to score a Golden Ticket for you + 3 friends.

The rules to participate are quite straight forward: everyone over 18 years old and not working in the organization can enter the contest. That said, the contestants have to put their creativity to work and produce original personal content such as pictures, videos or stories. Organizers will then evaluate the content and will choose the best creation as the winner.

The original material should be related to “Amicorum Spectaculum”, which is Tomorrowland’s newest theme: Inspired in some sort of early 20th century circus/attractions fair, Amicorum Spectaculum references to a gathering of friends where all type of magic and illusion can become true. With tarot readers, hot air balloons, trapeze artists and more, the greatest entertainers of all times will congregate to provide the People of Tomorrow with an enchanted experience that will remain forever in their memories.

The contest’s lucky winner will get Comfort Passes for him/her and 3 friends for both weekends of the festival, accommodation at Tomorrowland’s Theme Hotels for 10 nights, different activities during the week, exclusive dinners at Tomorrowland’s restaurants, credit to be spent on merchandising, and more.

Tomorrowland makes big stage announcements for 2017

tomorrowland 2017 stages

Tomorrowland has just made some exciting new announcements for their 2017 stage setups, which will be backed by some of today’s biggest electronic music superstars and leading record labels. Yesterday, January 19, Canadian record label, Monstercat made headlines across the internet as they announced they will be hosting their own stage at the European festival, which kicks off July 21 in Boom, Belgium. Tomorrowland has announced their community-driven theme to be “Amicorum Spectaculum,” meaning “show of friends” in Latin. As the theme’s name suggests, its primary goal is to promote unity between festival-goers and genres of all different demographics.

Alongside Monstercat, stages will be hosted by major labels such as Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, Sebastian Ingrosso’s Refune, Martin Garrix’s STAMPD Record, and more. Other genre-specific collectives such as I Love Techno and hardstyle’s Q-Dance will host stages at the event as well.

The festival’s second weekend will bring forth further notable entity partners, with stages hosted by the likes of Spinnin’ Records, Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak, Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance, Eric Prydz’s PRYDA, and more.

Tomorrowland’s melange of different sounds and genres, which includes over 65 collectives, labels, and artists, will easily mark the sprawling gathering as one of the most highly anticipated events of this year. With an already stacked assortment of genre-leading pioneers, we are all eagerly standing by for the stages’ lineup announcements to be made this coming Monday, January 23.

TOMORROWLAND REVEALS THEME FOR 2017

TOMORROWLAND REVEALS THEME FOR 2017

Tomorrowland 2017 is fast approaching, coming as the perfect mid-summer festival for anyone overseas. Based in Boom, Belgium, the massive electronic festival is moving to two weekends once again this year, spanning July 21 to July 30.

One of the big questions around Tomorrowland is always the theme, which seems to have just been answered in a Facebook post by the festival early this morning. Dubbed “Amicorum Spectaculum” and sporting an old school carnival theme, we can only guess that the theme for this year’s festival will fall along those same lines.

So, expect a lot of performers doing stunts, maybe some freaks, a lot of fun food and goodies, and perhaps the best stage of the festival ever. The circus theme leaves so much to the imagination that it’s nearly impossible to narrow down the possibilities. We’re so looking forward to this year’s installation.
