Dutch multidisciplinary collective 45ACIDBABIES are back and bolder than ever with their new 12-track album, ‘Paint The World Pink.’ This vibrant and defiant release is a call to embrace individuality, fight against conformity, and paint the world with your own unique colours.
Led by the infectious single “Running In2 U,” ‘Paint The World Pink’ tells the story of an underdog who breaks free from a dystopian society controlled by the evil corporation “Industry Inc” which controls society and forces the population to live grey, obedient lives. This empowering narrative explores themes of neurodiversity, queerness, self-love, and the power of community, crescendoing where the hero returns to her home planet to rescue other underdogs, offering them a safe haven where they too can become their own superheroes.
“‘Running In2 U’ tells the story of a character in a shooting game who is looking for more to life than shooting at the unknown,” explains the band. “The character is looking for connection. The sense of community and safety is a recurring theme in the story of 45ACIDBABIES and ‘Paint The World Pink’ in particular.” The accompanying music video showcases 45ACIDBABIES visual prowess, immersing listeners into their own world of pink, with its striking effects and mesmerising colour pallet, the video for ‘Running In2 U’ gives further insight into the band’s colourful universe.
The album is a sonic adventure that blends pop, electronic, and alternative influences, creating a soundscape that is both catchy and thought-provoking. From the sultry “Love Me 10Der” to the empowering anthem “7/11” and the protest song “2012 (The Movie),” 45ACIDBABIES tackle complex themes with a playful and rebellious spirit.
45ACIDBABIES comprises Sob-, Robin de Geus, Daniël Brem and Nina Miège, four inherently different creative personalities merging into a power ranger-like super-entity.
