German-born and Belfast-based singer A.N.J.A. is set to captivate audiences once again with her latest single, “Midnight Raid.” The dynamic artist, known for her unhinged and anthemic tunes, is set to release the track on July 7, 2023.
A.N.J.A., the driving force behind the electrifying sound, takes listeners on a dark and hypnotic journey into her occultish imaginarium. Drawing inspiration from retro punk, garage, psych, and stoner rock, she fearlessly faces the real-life horrors of our uncertain present. With powerful vocals, evil riffs, and a badass attitude, A.N.J.A. effortlessly combines coolness with mystical tinges, radiating fierce feminine energy and unapologetic confidence.
“Midnight Raid” embodies the energetic, aggressive, fierce, and driving elements that define A.N.J.A.’s unique style. The track falls under the rock, alternative, and punk genres and appeals to fans of L7, Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss, Nine Inch Nails, and Misfits.
This powerful single was created through a collaboration with sound engineer Jack McGarry. A.N.J.A. and McGarry recorded and produced most of the track at home, embracing an anarchical DIY approach. The lyrics of “Midnight Raid” are inspired by a real late-night mission, adding an authentic touch to the electrifying sound. “The main riff of the song started out as a jam at band practice, I then went and made a song out of it.”
To promote the release, A.N.J.A. has planned a headline pre-release show at Belfast’s renowned rock venue, Voodoo, on the night before the release. Additionally, a music video will accompany the single.
