Alex Maes & The Connection unveil captivating debut EP ‘The People We Thought We Knew’

Alex Maes & The Connection emerged in 2019 and since then, they have been relentlessly refining their sound to deliver an electrifying musical experience that blends R&B and jazz into a thought-provoking, impactful, and captivating performance.

After years of hard work, the band is now ready to unveil their debut EP, “The People We Thought We Knew”, a four-track compilation that delves into the complexities of human relationships, both with others and with oneself. Their unique style fuses R&B sounds, jazz melodies, and funky rhythms, exploring various genres in their production and performance.

The EP was recorded by Brian DiMaio, a Grammy-nominated recording engineer who has worked with notable artists such as Terrace Martin. Production was spearheaded by Alex Maes (Lead Vocalist) with help from Sean McLaughlin for production on vocals and mixing was done by Warren (Keys/Piano). Additionally, the EP was mastered by Jonathan Wyner, a Grammy-nominated mastering engineer.

Alex Maes & The Connection have already graced the stages of prestigious venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, The Narrows, and Boston City Plaza, leaving their audience in awe with their soulful performances. They have also been nominated for several awards, including the Best R&B/Soul nominee at the New England Music Awards in 2021, and as finalists in the New England Last Band Standing Competition in 2022, recognized for their excellent lyrics, music, and engaging performances.

With their debut EP now on the horizon, it won’t be long before the world takes notice of this rising act in the music industry.
