‘Painting Houses’ is a synth-pop ballad, which then grows into this soaring, multi-textured anthem of heartbreak and longing. To me, it captures that unique feeling you get when you hear that your ex has settled down with a new partner, and is now ‘painting houses’. I’m really proud of this song, and think it’s really representative of the type of music I want to be putting out in the future.
