ALIX PAGE shares new single ‘Radiohead’ | Debut EP ‘Old News’ arrives January 2022

Following an influx of praise from key titles including NME, CLASH, The Line of Best Fit, Dork & Coup De Main, Southern-California born Alix Page reveals an encounter from a fever dream in Radiohead’; the second single to be taken from her debut EP, ‘Old News’, due January 2022.

In this gentle performance, Page fosters up the courage to confront heartbreak. She finds herself dejectedly walking through an apartment she’s moved into with an ex. With a lump in her throat Alix croons, “I hate to bring it all back up again / I don’t believe you meant a word you said / I think that she was on your mind while you were on my neck / and I think you might have ruined Radiohead”.

Although troubling, this candid experience leads Alix to accept her unresolved past through lyrical therapy. The song is proof that you can feel you’ve moved on from someone or something, but your conscience may tell you otherwise.

“[Radiohead] is proof that you can be completely over someone and then have a dream about them and fall right back into feelings you didn’t know you still had.” explains Page. “Around this time last year I had a dream about me and an ex moving into an apartment and painting it together.  We hadn’t spoken in months and I genuinely hadn’t thought about it in a while but it felt SO scarily real.  I woke up flustered and heard the whole thing in my head before I even got out of bed; I wrote the first verse and chorus right away.

It wasn’t difficult to write technically but it made me face some hard truths during the process. I didn’t realize I still had some unresolved feelings about it until I was writing the chorus and saying those words out loud. That was kind of my way of coming to terms with the reality of that breakup and accepting the way things went. It’s really just a list of things I wish I could’ve said to that person at that moment.”

About Alix Page:

At first, Alix Page, 20, may seem indistinguishable from the average teenager. She has a severe love for skorts, has been dubbed “a pleasure to have in class” on more than one occasion, and still revels in the feeling of seeing someone’s bedroom for the first time. Instantly, Alix Page transforms into the best friend you didn’t know you had. Although ordinary, upon closer examination you’ll find yourself enthralled by Alix’s unconventional inner world, rooted with talents beyond her teenage years.

Along with her innate kindness, Page is equipped with a multitude of irrefutable abilities. At 3, she began reciting songs in full to anyone who’d listen. At 5, she found trouble by openly humming during parent-teacher conferences. Page discovered her love of expressing vulnerable emotions through song, backed by her perfect pitch and multi-instrumentalism, branching outwards with each shaping experience in life. For Alix Page, admiring, reflecting upon, and performing each passing moment is an effortless expression of bravery, honesty, and clarity.

Though we all come from unique walks of life, Alix Page proves we are the same type of different. Through vulnerability, we find ourselves in common emotional footing from the events we share. Page’s music, shaped by memories and fueled by passion, shares with us her journey as she further falls into her identity, formally known as Alix Page.

Written by Alix Page and produced by Brett Kramer of Half Alive, Radiohead is available December 1st 2021 across DSPs.
