Always pushing boundaries, you can expect the unexpected from alternative-pop artist Maggie Andrew. The Halifax-born Maggie infuses her music with the struggles of personal life and past traumas.
“Better Than You” is a cheeky song about being better than your exes. Maybe you’ve been called crazy or insane, told to try therapy, or self-medicate – but at some point you’ll realize that it’s not you, it’s them.
The song was written at a songwriting camp in 2022, produced by Corey Lerue and Carleton Stone. Maggie lost her voice on the second night of camp and it wasn’t coming back; she wasn’t able to sing like normal and instead went for something with an edgier rock ‘n roll vibe.
