FORTHCOMING DEBUT ALBUM, LONESTAR, DUE OUT AUGUST 25
Today, London-based artist Barny Fletcher has released a new single titled “Masterpiece.” The track is the latest single from Barny’s forthcoming debut album, Lonestar, due out August 25 via Guin Records.

A groovy funk track laced with disco flourishes and driving percussion, “Masterpiece” is the second taste of Barny Fletcher’s forthcoming debut album and further amplifies the artist’s unbounded stylistic dexterity. Speaking on the song, Barny describes, “A musician travels from town to town, playing music in smokey down bars. When in LA, he happens upon the prettiest girl he’s ever seen. He makes it his mission to get her to stay, she says he can only do that by making her dance. This song is on some disco shit. I structured it similar to Love Comes Down because it’s one if the best songs ever written.”
Today’s release comes on the heels of last month’s album kick-off single “WOO!,” which saw strong Spotify support landing on playlists such as New Music Friday UK and Fresh Finds. The track also drew critical acclaim from outlets such as Dork as well as EARMILK, who noted, “His harmonies are alluring and they are matched with a unique inflection in his vocals.” Watch the “WOO!” official videohere.
Rooted in themes of young love and self-discovery, the forthcoming album boasts a collection of songs written against the backdrop of a road trip to California, each song revealing a bit more of Barny’s journey while continuing to spotlight Barny’s magnetic energy and charisma that have defined his artistry since Day 1.
Fall 2022’s mixtape JETPACK, Barny’s 3rd mixtape project, saw critical love from outlets like Notion, Ones To Watch, and EARMILK, and playlist support including Spotify’sNew Music Friday. Standout tracks like “Intergirlactic” and “Backstroke” further showcased Barny’s inimitable flow, cementing his place among the top new artists to watch in 2023.
Since his debut, Barny Fletcher has seen widespread praise including support from BBC’s Radio 1 and Australia’s Triple J, as well as features including a collaboration with DJ Shadow, a Euro 2020 fashion design campaign with Umbro, and an inclusion on the soundtrack for Michaela Coel’s HBO series I May Destroy You.

ABOUT BARNY FLETCHER
A budding pop prodigy with undeniable charisma, Barny Fletcher first debuted in 2019 with singles “Christ Flow” and “Blu Skyes,” which set the stage for his hotly-tipped debut project, CANVAS2033, and its follow-up, BOZO. The releases sparked support from BBC Radio 1 on their ‘Introducing Playlist,’ leading to a prestigious performance slot at the BBC Introducing Stage at Radio 1 Big Weekend.
