Kicking off the project with a banger comes Denver-based Green Matter’s “Weekender,” featuring Nat James. The Latina artist fuses her love for bass music with Nat’s UK rap style for a certified party-starting anthem. Nebulous pads and shimmery cosmic synth lines create an otherworldly aura that expands with militant drum work and commanding vocals. Nat James’ presence adds an international swagger and addictive edge, which is expertly balanced against the UK-inspired wobbles, gritty sawtooth leads, and brain-searing dissonant stabs. “Weekender” is an energetic, infectious, and filthy anthem that’s built to take over festival season.
Green Matter shares her excitement around the release, saying, “I had an absolute blast creating this nostalgic banger and finally teaming up with the incredibly talented Nat James. We made this track to bring high energy to summer festivals and light up the dancefloor.”
Dallas-based producer Gunpoint offers a brutish dubstep destroyer that lives up to its name. “Burn” is a fierce and fiery blast of rail-breaking bass. Ominous undertones lay the backdrop, while distorted vocals offer a warning to listeners as to what lies ahead. Chunky drums and gritty sound design give way to an all-out assault of dubstep dominance. Blistering bass collides with rapid-fire percussion, metallic grit, and brain-bending sound design, all of which leads to its destructive outpouring.
Gunpoint explains the inspiration behind the release, saying, “‘Burn’ is about lighting up the dancefloor and letting the chaos take over. It’s pure energy—turning rage into release.”
Frequent collaborators Maze and Trinist come together once again for the experimental “Breaklight.” Blurring the lines between drum & bass and riddim, the inventive single is perfectly peculiar. Skidding tires and screams see the track drifting into a spine-chilling, off-kilter drop that’s minimalist yet mind-boggling. A brief reprieve resets the energy while the darkness swirls underneath the surface. The latter half is an eruption of maddening DnB that pulls elements from the first, while picking up the pace to a breakneck speed.
Taking listeners “Into The Abyss” comes HEXXA and Jonter’s beastly collaboration. Building tension with expert finesse, a tappy snare creeps over epic synths, creating a foreboding opening. Distorted rap vocals are sprinkled in to add swagger before unleashing the true power of the abyss. The track moves like a gargantuan monster from the unknown, slinking through the mists before exploding to the forefront with bloodthirsty intent. Oscillating sound design and murderous stabs score the drops, creating a truly monstrous impact.
HEXXA opens up about the vision behind the track, stating, “‘Into The Abyss’ is a full-throttle dive into the darker side of bass music. I wanted it to feel massive, cinematic, and unrelenting—like you’re being swallowed by sound. Every element was crafted to bring out that intensity, and working with Jonter took it to an even heavier place.”
Offering his side on the collaboration, Jonter explains: “We set out to create something that felt alive and dangerous. The atmosphere, the tension, the weight of the drop, etc., were built to hit hard. Hexxa’s vision and energy took this collaboration to a new level, and I’m proud of how deep and intense it turned out.”
“VOIID” is a warehouse-ready weapon primed for peak-time domination. Acid licks give the track a nostalgic rave feel that is amplified by the hypnotizing vocals. Sound design is on full display in the first drop. RYNS delivers a mind-melting experimental bass onslaught that fuses deep wubs, screechy leads, and sci-fi lasers. The second half explores an entirely new sound, as spin-back samples give way to a driving techno finale, fueled by pulsing kicks and racing hi-hats that propel the track forward without sacrificing the experimental elements.
RYNS expresses his enthusiasm to be a part of the compilation, saying, “Grateful to be releasing with Bassrush. The label has been curating music and festival stages since I first got into the scene so it feels full circle.”
Atlanta producer duo Mikes Revenge flexes their signature style with “Open Your Eyes.” Clocking in at just over two minutes, the track wastes little time delivering an all-out sensory overload. Fusing spoken word samples, trappy synths, detuned guitar plucks, and mesmerizing vocal bends, the opening takes listeners to a new plane of existence before the namesake vocal readies them for the heavy drops. Blistering low-end and precision percussion help punctuate the ever-moving sound design. Not to be outdone, the finale sees a violent synth pattern added into the madness for an even more menacing melee.
The track offers a deeper meaning than one might assume as Mikes Revenge details: “‘Open Your Eyes,’ started as a raw expression of the emotions we were dealing with at the time. It blends an upbeat, high-energy intro with a heavy bass drop that mirrors the intensity we felt inside. The pre-drop vocal—yelling ‘Open Your Eyes’—is more than just a hype moment; it’s a call to snap out of the fog, face reality, and feel everything fully. This track is a release in every sense of the word.”
AYCH makes his debut on Bassrush Records with the gritty 140 slapper “Tippy Toe.” Mixing a heavy hip-hop influence with wonky dubstep has become the artist’s calling card, and this one proves why it works so well. The chopped and looped vocals offer the foundation as icy keys and trappy snares are utilized meticulously to build excitement. The drops are wonky and filthy, as crunchy bass pulses over crisp drums and hard-hitting vocals. The retooled second drop builds on the foundation of the first, offering even more experimentation without detracting from its subduing groove.
More than just a banger, it’s an ode to authenticity, which AYCH breaks down: “The meaning behind ‘Tippy Toe’ and the vocal sample ‘they do anything for clout’ stems from my personal experiences navigating the music industry—where I’ve encountered people who prioritize status over substance. The track is a reflection on the caution and awareness that comes with recognizing those dynamics, while staying grounded in authenticity.”
Bringing the compilation to a close comes Skydisc’s “The Jungle” alongside the one and only MC Dino. The track offers an old-school underground rave sound as the pair takes listeners back to the jungle. LA-based veteran lyricist MC Dino demonstrates his inimitable presence with a flow that sits between smooth and energetic, riding the beat with ease. Skydisc mixes elements of jungle and modern drum & bass with grungy basslines, punchy breaks, classic synths, and a frenetic pace. Combining the raw energy of ‘90s raves without feeling dated, the pair craft a timeless dancefloor igniter.
Skydisc provides his take on what listeners can expect when pressing play, stating, “This track is pure energy—raw, relentless, and built to shake the foundations. It’s my loudest statement yet, and I can’t wait to unleash it next month.”
