Returning for its second year – Beans on Toast – proudly presents…
THE FOOLHARDY FOLK FESTIVAL 2022
Taking place at the beautiful Nottingham Arboretum park in the heart of the city, the cult folk hero and festival veteran will curate a day of life-affirming music on the Summer Bank Holiday Sunday (28 August).
Calling on some of his closest musical compadres, expect performances from SHE DREW THE GUN, WILL VARLEY, HOLY MOLY & THE CRACKERS, KITTY LIV (Kitty, Daisy & Lewis), GAZ BROOKFIELD, JACK FLANAGAN (Mystery Jets), and Nottingham’s own GEORGIE; not to mention a set from BEANS ON TOAST himself.
Music, Trees and revelry will be the order of the day, with the festival offering a unique opportunity to see some of the UK’s most exciting acts playing stripped back sets live from the Arboretum’s bespoke bandstand venue.
Street food stands and a pop-up beer festival will also be on site to keep attendees refreshed throughout the day.
Speaking about what to expect from the second edition of the FOOLHARDY FOLK FESTIVAL, Beans on Toast says:
“It’ll be a wonderful, family-friendly event filled with brilliant music, good company, tasty food, cold drinks and warm sunshine in a truly beautiful setting, all for the bargain price of £25. Nice one!”
Chiming with the release of his book ‘Foolhardy Folk Tales’, the inaugural Foolhardy Folk Festival was launched in 2021. Back by popular demand, the festival returns bigger, better and with a brand new lineup for 2022.
Tickets are priced at just £25 for adults and under 11’s go free (though kids tickets are limited so hurry!) and will be available on Friday 29 April from: www.beansontoastmusic.com

SHE DREW THE GUN
Junkyard soul from Merseyside, these 6Music and Glastonbury favourites provide unique, passionate and powerful songs. Making them one of the most exciting live acts in the UK today.
WILL VARLEY
A true master of the art of songwriting, Will Varley’s style is timeless and classic and yet completely his own. This old soul based on the Kent coast will have you laughing one minute and crying the next.
HOLY MOLY & THE CRACKERS
Newcastle’s fiery folk party starters. Firm festival favourites who bombastically mash together unique flavours of soul, rock, indie and folk and bring a raucous and feel-good party where everyone is invited.
GAZ BROOKFIELD
Somerset’s favourite troubadour. His huge array of relatable songs about life, love and travel have built him an incredible and loyal following all over the country.
KITTY LIV
You may already know Kitty from her much-loved family band KITTY, DAISY & LEWIS. Now Kitty is striking out on her own. This is just the beginning for this soulful London songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
JACK FLANAGAN
A new project for Jack, the bass player of indie superheroes THE MYSTERY JETS. Jack’s solo career kicked off earlier this year with some banging singles released on Modern Sky records, which already caught the eye of Rolling Stone and NME.
GEORGIE
Nottingham’s own Georgie is a singer-songwriter who writes brilliant pop and folk tunes and pours her heart and soul into them.
BEANS ON TOAST
The curator of this event is no stranger to Festivals. First stumbling into Glastonbury as a wide-eyed 16-year-old, he never looked back, and he’s never missed a Glasto since. While playing as Beans on Toast, he’s played hundreds of festivals all over the world and will be clocking up 30+ festivals this coming Summer. For this event, he’s invited some of his favourite songwriters he’s met along the way…..
NOTTINGHAM ARBORETUM
Nottingham’s oldest public park is home to an important collection of over 800 trees, and slap bang in the middle is a bandstand, the perfect inner-city setting for an afternoon of fine music
