Beans on Toast – Releases: “Humans” || New Album out 1 Dec: ‘Survival of The Friendliest’

Laced with lilting, lullaby-like arrangements and a gentle pace designed to pause for reflection, “Humans” is a tender love letter to humanity and our very existence.

With references to all things bright and beautiful, great and small, real and imaginary: “It’s a song about humans, nature, awe, wonder….. and unicorns.” says Beans.

“Humans” arrives with a bespoke official video of Beans, his wife Lizzy Bee and daughter Wren connecting with nature in the heart of the Blean woods in Kent. Watch here:

The new track follows recent singles “Not Everybody Thinks We’re Doomed” and “A Beautiful Place”, and is the final cut to emerge before the release of his much anticipated new album: ‘Survival of the Friendliest’ (out 1 December, via BOT Music). Produced by Blaine Harrison of Mystery Jets, it’s a record all about hope, positivity and camaraderie, that chooses to celebrate the very best of human nature.

Recorded at Big Jelly Studios in Ramsgate, the album features a host of friends & musicians including the spoken-word artist Dizraeli, acclaimed author Nick Hayes (on banjo), multi-talented gospel singer Sarah Telman (backing vocals, strings), Rosie Bristow of Holy Moly & The Crackers (accordion), Adriano Rossetti-Bonell (saxophone) and Graham Godfrey (drums), alongside contributions throughout from Mystery Jets’ Blaine Harrison and Jack Flanagan. With every fibre made with a little help from his friends, the cover art for the album is by London based painter Georgie Mason; whereas its videos come courtesy of old school friend and wildlife photographer: Curt Walsh.

In support of the new album, Beans on Toast will be touring some of the UK’s finest independent venues with his brand new live band, which will feature many of the artists who contributed to the record. Split into two runs, tickets are on sale now here. Support comes from Camden’s finest KITTY LIV.

Launching the tour, Beans will be hosting a very special album launch show at Whitstable’s The Playhouse on 1 December, where he will be bringing the album to life with all of the musicians who played on it. While tickets for the event are now SOLD OUT, fans will be able to tune into the event from home via a livestream on the night. Buy tickets for the album launch livestream here
