Saxophonist and composer Bernell Jones II unveils his sensual and thought-provoking new single, “Love Sings”, a rich fusion of R&B, soul, and alternative jazz that tells the story of a one-sided love affair. The track, featuring Barry Antoine and NORY, marks Jones’s first release since his acclaimed 2024 debut album TYPEWRITER and serves as the first glimpse into his upcoming full-length project, FOR EVERYONE, slated for April 2026.
Blending live instrumentation with modern production, “Love Sings” captures Jones’s mission to make jazz approachable without sacrificing depth or artistic integrity. The song showcases his multi-faceted musicianship, from his evocative saxophone lines to his sophisticated songwriting and arrangement, all brought to life through the soulful vocals of Barry Antoine and a poetic rap feature from NORY.
“Love Sings is not your cliché love song,” says Bernell Jones II. “It cunningly tells the story of a one-sided relationship where one partner is deeply in love and the other is trying to fake it after falling out of love over time. I wanted to write something with the lyricism, metaphor, and storytelling that I grew up hearing in the music of the ‘70s and ‘80s — songs that didn’t just sound good but said something real.”
Originally from Memphis, TN, and now based in New York City, Bernell has spent the last decade building a career that bridges the worlds of jazz tradition and digital innovation. Known for his sharp humor and creativity, his viral music-comedy videos and documentary-style YouTube series What It’s Like Being a Musician in NYC have drawn tens of thousands of followers and millions of views, redefining how jazz and artistry are presented in the modern digital space.
Having performed with the likes of Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Philip Harper, Julius Rodriguez, Eric Bellinger, and more, Jones continues to establish himself as one of the most dynamic new voices in contemporary jazz. “Love Sings” was written and produced by Bernell Jones II, who created the track from the ground up, programming drums, crafting bass and piano parts, and recording with a live band to capture its organic energy.
