First Release from Forthcoming Project – Outside EP – out July 16th
on Young Art Records.
Russian producer and multi-instrumentalist Biicla has today released a brand new single “Getting High”, the first offering from his forthcoming project – the Outside EP – out in July on TOKiMONSTA’s imprint Young Art Records. Getting High captures Biicla’s genre-defying appeal, blending influences from pop, hip-hop and electronica into a beautifully cohesive record.

Getting High comes with a DIY music video shot from Biicla’s apartment in his small hometown in Siberia. Filmed during a period of covid-related lockdowns in Russia, Biicla can be seen staying busy inside, fighting feelings of loneliness and addiction, while simultaneously trying to stay active and upbeat. It’s a familiar feeling we’ve all grown accustomed to over the past year, and Biicla brilliantly captures this ongoing feeling of stifled creativity and fatigue.
Biicla shared some words about what the single means to him:
“When you listen to the track Getting High for the first time, you think it’s about a girl, but it’s not quite true. This is a song about addiction, the main character is definitely not getting along with himself and he tries to relax and disconnect from problems in this way. During the addiction, he finds a muse, whom he asks to stay.”
Biicla has picked up a lot of steam in the digital electronic music scene over the past couple years: dropping music on labels like Deadbeats, Confession and Good Luck Have Fun; releasing official remixes for the likes of Whethan, Zeds Dead and Louis The Child; and earning praise from tastemakers like Billboard and Dancing Astronaut. He looks forward to capitalizing on that success by making his stateside debut at HARD Summer in Southern California on August 1st, followed by ILLFest in Austin on September 18th, as well as some other tour dates in support of TOKiMONSTA across the US throughout September and October.

Biicla Bio
Biicla is a Russian multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer. He is from an extremely small town in Russia called Labytnangi (born in Dubna), whose population is less than 30,000. He’s had success in Russia and has recently begun to make waves in the US with his unique and irresistibly catchy international brand of future bass mixed with house music influences.
His track “Deeper” arrives following the success of his first three global releases; his debut was “No Place”, a blend of pop-rock, hip-hop and house that immediately received critical praise from industry tastemakers like Billboard and This Song Is Sick. In October, he released the experimental “Girl” followed by the extremely catchy house single, “Heart & Stay”, which was premiered by Dancing Astronaut.
Following up the singles, Biicla has continued his tirard of infectious tracks with this fresh new offering. Featuring a wealth of inspiration from all over the electronic music spectrum, the rising phenom has seemingly bridged the gap between his inspirations and own unique production prowess on this triumphant debut project. On his first full-length EP “No Place”, Biicla delivers quite the diverse and enigmatic project here, as he delves into tons of different genres while still maintaining a cohesive and captivating sound.
