Blu Jay is a singer/songwriter, actress and fashion label owner from LA who burst onto the music scene in 2019 but has been a musician since long before. After releasing her debut EP Soul Searching, she did just that during the pandemic, returning this year with single Loose State of Mind, becoming her most popular song on Spotify to date. Now, she sets out on a new journey with indie-pop track Trees, arguably her most ambitious yet.
With her fresh take and feminine sensibility, Blu Jay captures the angst and frustration of what it feels like never to be enough for that one person in your life. With a driving beat, and powerful lyrics, the reflective post-break up track, Trees, hammers away at the moment she realizes that for someone she loves, even if she were “ a pop star, rock star, lawyer or a doctor, drive a fast race car….” it will never be enough.

Influenced by the likes of Halsey, Marina, Billie Eilish, Mazzy Star, Trees will be released on the 6th of October and will be available on all DSPs.

Blu Jay is a singer-songwriter-producer and actress based in Los Angeles. Half Brazilian and Half American, Jade started her career as an actress at age six in an ensemble cast that included Helen Hunt, Aaron Paul, and Samantha Morton in Decoding Annie Parker and then later appeared in HBO’s Sharp Objects. She’s been singing and performing in bands since her tween years, constantly evolving as a songwriter and performer. In the spring of 2022, she took her band on a tour of college venues across New England. Blu Jay is also the founder and designer of the Indie Fashion Brand BABY DADDY MOMMA DRAMA, with her partner musician Jack Xander. Back in Los Angeles, she has continued to create her own material and is now launching her latest song Trees.
