Blue Capricorn is a stand-out musician who strives to blend genres infused with the sounds that he creates. The multi-instrumentalist and vocalist returns with his brand-new single ‘FANTÔME, JE NE RESSENTIRAI RIEN’ featuring Jacks Haupt.

Renowned for its ambient moodiness and eerie soundscapes, Blue Capricorn finds inspiration in dream pop, jazz, bolero, and experimental music. He is influenced by artists such as Nicolas Jaar, Willie Colón, Nick Hakim, Billie Holiday, Frank Ocean, and Portishead.

‘FANTÔME, JE NE RESSENTIRAI RIEN’ was created for Jacks Haupt to fit right into, but with the space Blue Capricorn would occupy. Rooted in ethereal drum machines and synths that add an extra layer to the emotive and complex production, the melancholy vibe is over a trip-hop and experimental indie. Going into the track, he had the intention of creating a song primarily rooted in the influence of trip-hop music.

Blue Capricorn expressed that Jacks music sounded a lot like Amy Winehouse in the present day, but Jacks also gave off the vibe of someone who had grown up listening to 90s music, especially trip-hop. He had been wanting to compose a song in this way for a few years, but he knew he didn’t want to do it by himself. It wasn’t until a friend introduced him to Jacks music that he had an epiphany. He thought, “She has to be on this song I want to write. She has the voice,  she has the energy and she has the niche for it.” He emailed Jacks the instrumentals and backing vocals after they were finished, and she was quite happy with them. They got together at Michael Briggs’ Denton, Texas, studio, where it was recorded, and they spent one night recording.

Blue Capricorn is a versatile artist who demonstrates emotive storytelling with captivating productions that overall create an atmospheric and haunting vibe with his music. He continues to pave his way as an emerging talent in the music industry. His music is fueled by high productions, his ever-growing creative talents, and his overall love for music.

On the release, Blue Capricorn shares, “’FANTÔME, JE NE  RESSENTIRAI RIEN’ is the French translation to ‘Ghost, I won’t feel a thing’. That title could take on several meanings, but when Jack was laying down vocals and lyrics, she had mentioned themes of love that had run its course, but being unable to avoid it because it was everywhere you showed up. It very much fits the mood of the track. It felt like we were definitely on the same wavelength when it came to what this song meant because I had perceived this song to be about some form of love, even when the song was in its first stages and I was just laying down the instrumentals. I love songs about past love, and so it was interesting to hear  someone approach it so articulately and with vulnerability, especially without me ever mentioning the idea.”

‘FANTÔME, JE NE RESSENTIRAI RIEN’ is unlike anything that Blue Capricorn has created before; it’s a song that will introduce listeners to something new and different.

Accumulating press coverage across the likes of Earmilk, Notion, and Fame Magazine, Blue Capricorn has presented himself as an exciting musical talent with a lot of promise for the future.
