NASHVILLE, Tenn. –  Country/pop artist Brandon Stansell is elaborating on the heartfelt themes from his latest single “Wild Ride,” with his deeply personal 10-track LP, This Must Be The Place, available now. From start to finish, the project is infused with lively 80s synths paired perfectly alongside highly introspective and autobiographical lyrics exploring positive change and personal growth. Like they say – it’s not about where you end up, it’s about the journey you took to get there. Well, I have had some pretty set dreams since I was six-years-old, so “getting there” was all I ever wanted to do. But as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized the magic really is in the space between. And let me tell you, my path has been a pretty incredible one,” Brandon Stansell said. “This album is a marker for me – a chance to reflect on the past both the good and bad. And more importantly, a chance to look forward to what’s next because I truly do believe all my best days as an artist and as a human being are still ahead of me.

The full length LP, released via PEG Records and Warner Music Group/ADA, records a chapter of extensive self-exploration for Stansell in which he takes listeners on an incredibly personal journey of discovery, self-acceptance and love. The project offers several stand out tracks, each highlighting a new artistic side of Stansell and showcasing him as an artist with versatility and boundless potential for growth.

The title track is a phrase that, for Stansell, represents a feeling of contentment, newness and personal rebirth, while “Hell of A Year,” is an upbeat and optimistic track reminiscing on the trials faced during the thick of the pandemic. The track also features Nashville country-rock mogul and fellow LBGTQ+ activist, Shelly Fairchild, who brings out a fresh rock edge to Stansell. The closing track, “The God’s Honest Truth” harmoniously ties in all concepts of love, acceptance and truth explored throughout the project, leading the listener through buttery acoustic melodies and leaving them with a deeply sincere message that is straight from the heart.

Brandon has already received waves of support from not only fans but media including Billboard, Entertainment Tonight, E! Online and CMT among many others. To coincide with the album release, Brandon will embark on his headlining tour in Long Beach, California on July 10 with additional stops in New York and Nashville. The 10-stop tour will see Brandon performing songs from the new album as well as a few fan favorites from previous releases. The tour will conclude in Minneapolis, Minnesota and tickets are on sale now here

Since his debut project seven years ago, Stansell has become a leading advocate for the advancement and acceptance of LGBTQ+ artists in the country music genre. With his unapologetic and authentic storytelling, Stansell has undoubtedly paved the way for queer artists to come, helping to create a safer journey for all who follow him. In 2018, his music video for “Hometown” was the first LGBTQ-themed video ever premiered on CMT and named one of Rolling Stone’s 10 Best Country Videos of the Year.  In 2020, in conjunction with his Hurt People EP, he premiered his documentary Three Chords And A Lie, at OutFest in Los Angeles, painstakingly highlighting his struggles with his Southern Baptist family as he prepared for his first hometown show in Tennessee. He continues to be a driving force of change in country music, proving that being gay and being country do not oppose each other. Stansell’s artistic talent and dedication to the refinement and growth of his craft prove there is no additional label needed to being an artist.
