French disco maestro Breakbot has teamed up with good buddy and frequent collaborator Irfane for yet another timeless hit – Remedy – the first release from Breakbot’s forthcoming EP, out today via Ed Banger / Because Music.
Remedy comes with a fantastically futuristic video, featuring cartoon Breakbot and Irfane traversing across the animated universe in search of “the remedy” and the solution to all of life’s problems. The video is a continuation of Breakbot’s biggest hit to date – Baby I’m Yours (over 300 million streams and counting) – another joyful animated experience. Animated videos have become a hallmark of every Breakbot release, a fitting visual accompaniment to his feel-good production.
Breakbot and Irfane shared some insights into their new record:
Like many of you over the course of the past two years, we were forced to watch the world from our homes for months on end. On the upside, this allowed us to finish the construction of our studio and to start working on new material. This is the first track we fully recorded and mixed in our new laboratory, which brings us much pride and joy. It embodies our quest for the “Remedy” to this pandemic.
The pumping beat, the funky bass line and the driving arpeggios give the tune a sense of relentless urgency, which contrasts with the sweet sound of the Fender Rhodes piano and the uplifting vocals that warn us of false prophets and their elusive promises. We are very happy to share this new episode with you, and hope it will contribute to keeping you in good spirits!

Breakbot and Irfane will also be hitting the road for the first time in two years, playing a handful of west coast shows at the end of March, followed by a run in Europe in April, and then back in the states for a tour throughout May. After months of downtime cooking up new music in Paris, it’s a busy few months ahead for one of the most beloved figures in dance music.
