Breakout Nashville Songstress Brianna Harness Channels Her Bluesy Roots In “Lonely” Single and Video

Brianna Harness is a force to be reckoned with: she is living proof that tremendous adversity can produce the greatest beauty. In her latest single, “Lonely,” Brianna taps into a deeper heartbreak; her stunningly soulful voice juxtaposed by painful, longing lyrics. Accompanied by a sultry, moody music video that was released a few weeks prior, fans can now listen to “Lonely” across all DSPs today.

I wrote ‘Lonely’ this last year after having a crazy few years chasing my dreams,’ Harness explains. “When you’re working non stop trying to get ahead some days you look up and feel all alone.”

“Lonely” is a highly anticipated follow up to Harness’ 2020 debut album, Welcome to My Nightmare, a startlingly mature and diverse collection that draws from her own history and points to a bright future. Welcome to My Nightmare explores a wide range of musical styles, from atmospheric indie rock to a lounge-y, nightclub vibe.

What I went through helped mold the person I am today,” says Harness. “I like to make music based off of the things that I’ve experienced, so people know that they can get through those situations and that they’re not alone.

Harness marks the newest generation of a legendary musical bloodline—Jessi Colter and Waylon Jennings are her great-grandparents—yet she grew up under challenging circumstances, surrounded by dysfunction and addiction. Her perspective is informed by her early years, which were deeply impacted by the underbelly of the world of drugs. At the age of fifteen, Harness left the family home, setting her on a path to become the fiercely independent and self-reliant woman she is today.

In addition to new music due out this spring, Harness will hit the road with her father, rapper Struggle Jennings, on their cross-country Angels and Outlaws tour later this month.
