Brettina shares new visualiser for ‘Spell’

Bahamian singer-songwriter Brettina released her first single in the UK, a version of her glorious anthem ‘Simple Pleasures’ with UK Jazz and Funk stalwarts Incognito. This gained over 500 plays at UK Radio including a Jazz fm playlist and 2 x Records of The Week, BBC regional , core soul jazz support from the likes of Mi Soul, Delite, Starpoint, Solar and 50 stations nationwide. This support resulted in over  200k streams on Spotify alone.

Her latest single features the neo soul vibes of the original mix highlighting Brettina’s soul credentials. On the remix front Brettina has teamed up with UK soulful house stalwarts Reel People who have delivered a delicious sun kissed epic with trademark key stabs and uplifting grooves.

Brettina says the track was inspired by : ‘Thinking you were/are comfortable and happy by yourself..until that brash, unwavering phenomenon call love, puts a spell on you. That special someone appears and there’s nothing you can do about it… except give in. ‘

The remixes of this and the previous high quality single show her versatility as an artist, and one who is soon to be in demand across the broad spectrum that is the current UK Jazz/Soul scene.

Born in the Bahamas, Brettina’s musicality was in some senses laid out for her – her mother introduced her to singing, and her uncle was in the hugely successful Bahamian group ‘ T-Connection’, who had hits on the Billboard Top 100 chart in the US in the 70s.

Brettina herself now resides between the US and the Bahamas, originally in Seattle and now in LA where she’s making waves on the current LA Jazz scene.
