Brighton based celestial prog-psych-rock singer-songwriter Astral Gray shares the beguiling new single ‘Mirror On The Wall’ taken from his debut album The Past Is In The Way.
Having made a name for his unique 70s infused soundscapes and emotive, thoughtful songwriting, Astral Gray has cut his teeth gigging across Brighton, sharing lineups with the likes of Sugar Candy Mountain, Derya Yildirim and The New Eves.
The new single see’s Astral Gray showcase some of his most compelling work to date, offering a rich, nostalgic soundscape of swelling organs, psychedelic guitar tones and slow, disjointed drums. Topped with Astral Gray’s elegant, commanding and yet fraglic and heartfelt lead vocal, the track is as comparable to Weyes Blood and The Doors as it is to Pink Floyd, Father John Misty and even the more recent Arctic Monkeys albums.
Closing with the climactic final section, ‘Mirror On The Wall’ grows to fuzzy guitar tones and layers of vocal harmonies. Offering a taste of the depthy, intricately constructed songwriting that can be expected across the full upcoming album.

Continuing to talk about the album “The Past Is In The Way (Album) is an introspective, celestial psych rock LP, that I hope would leave the listener questioning themselves and governments, but also, how they perceive certain concepts of our society like the growing need for perfectionism in a culture that is very tough to navigate.”
Having already gained airplay on BBC introducing and playing packed out shows across Brighton, Astral Gray continues his growth as an artist into the release of his full length debut.
