After her debut single “Serenity”, released earlier this year, singer and songwriter Dominique Simone has returned with a brand new single titled “Sweater”.
The single features Dominique Simone’s soulful vocals and velvety tones. As in her debut single, she is blending different musical genres, taking from neo-soul, R&B and alt-pop. the message she wants to communicate through “Sweater” is that it is ok to not be ok and she hopes to make a real impact on her listeners.
About her new release, Dominique Simone says: “I understand how hard life can be. We all have days where we don’t want to leave our rooms and days where we kind of feel sorry for ourselves and we think that the universe is being unfair to us. I just want the message to be that the first step is getting up and believing that you in that moment are worth it, that you are enough. I want to make music you feel glad you found.
I hope people will feel heard when they listen to my music. I seek to find those complicated feelings and put them into words because it can be so hard to decipher what’s going on in your head. Always remember, you are not alone.”
The music that Dominique Simone is creating under the Neo-soul, R&B and alternative pop umbrella has drawn comparison to the likes of Ella Mai, Lianne La Havas and Kiane Ledé. She was able to create her own universe with an extensive range of writing and performing abilities, so she managed to have something unique each time.
When she was 8-year-old, she started to teach herself piano and to write songs. After that, she began to perform professionally at sixteen in her local area -including Granvilles Brasserie & Music Bar, local festivals, online live shows as well as a couple of appearances on Stratford FM.
As she has more music schedule to release, she immediately became a rising star to watch with the release of her debut single “Serenity” on June 6 – it was played on BBC Introducing and received a glowing endorsement from listeners. With her unique and addictive music as well as a brand that is creative and distinctive, we are excited to see what is coming next!
