A hybrid night of orchestral innovation and punk spirit, sparks will fly when a cast of familiar faces from the legendary London label go head-to-head with a maverick composition duo for the first time.

Featuring special guest appearances from Frank Turner, Mull Historical Society, Johnny Lloyd, PET NEEDS, Guise, BERRIES, Deux Furieuses and more, the Xtra Mile Recordings roster will see their works radically transformed by Anglo-Swedish maestros Buswell & Nyberg and their pop-up orchestra of over 50+ locally sourced musicians.
Earning acclaim as the world’s foremost experts on creating pop-up orchestras from scratch, Shaun Buswell & Erik Nyberg have accepted unconventional musical challenges across the globe from Paris to Siberia to Glastonbury and beyond. Faced with a challenge unlike any they have undertaken before, the duo return to London this Spring tasked with assembling a brand new pop-up orchestra for an evening of unique collaborations with Xtra Mile Recordings.
Established in 2003 by founder Charlie Caplowe, Xtra Mile Recordings have nurtured some of the finest alternative, punk and contemporary folk artists of the past 20 years. In 2022, the label will be calling on some of the leading lights of their current roster for an on-stage cultural exchange and celebration like none-other in its history. With confirmed appearances from Frank Turner, Mull Historical Society, Johnny Lloyd, PET NEEDS, Guise, BERRIES, and Deux Furieuses, expect further additions and surprises as the label go that “extra mile” to make this a night to remember.
With the special guests performing unique baroque-pop renditions of their Xtra Mile-released classics, the audience can also expect a mix of Buswell & Nyberg’s own live staples, unusual cover versions of popular songs, and perhaps even some classic movie/TV theme tunes too.
