Title track features in The CW’s hit sci-fi series ‘Pandora’
London based soul-pop singer-songwriter Cassa Jackson has unveiled a short film styled video for her latest single ‘He’s No You’ and features fast rising Tik Tok star and face of cosmetic brand Charlotte Tilbury.
She says: “The music video for He’s No You features model Daisy Jelley (Tik Tok star and face Of Charlotte Tilbury) and it is a short-film type music video. I think this might be the coolest music video I’ve made as it has such a clear narrative and it gets so epic towards the end with the girl running through the night back to her ex-boyfriend’s house – it’s a real story of the song and I’m so excited for people to see it!”
‘He’s No You’ is lifted from the debut 5-track EP of the same name out now. The title track and ‘Beautiful Confused’ from the EP both feature in The CW’s hit sci-fi series ‘Pandora’.
Drawing on a myriad of influences from soul, pop and RnB and nods to fellow luminaries such as Miley Cyrus, Julia Michaels and Dua Lipa, Cassa adds a modern pop twist, coupled with autobiographical lyrics detailing the highs and lows of young love and life, articulated in a sassy, headstrong, passionate manner, peppered with hints of sadness and vulnerability.
She says: “This EP is a sassy rallying call for the female empowerment movement. It’s all about relationships and the ups and downs of young love and life. I’m so excited to be releasing my first EP and am ecstatic that two of these songs are appearing in such a huge American TV show”.
Cassa first started writing songs at school with her very first song taking her to the final of the Song Academy Songwriter of the Year competition, where she was spotted by Jo Garofalo and asked to perform as a guest solo artist at Wembley Arena for the ‘Voice in a Million’ charity event. Shortly after, she was performing the same track to a crowd of 40,000 people at the ‘Colour Day Festival’ in Athens.
After her academic success at school (achieving all A*s in her GCSEs and 2 A*s and and an A at A-level in French, Spanish and English), she went on to study French and Spanish at the University of Bristol, where she is currently in her final year, reading French and Spanish. Her aptitude for languages has opened doors across Europe where she has worked closely with the Parisian duo sensation ‘Klymvx’, recording at the Studio Grande Armée in Paris.
Cassa is now signed to Marshall Arts booking agency (Pink, Elton John) and in 2019 she supported Jocelyn Brown three nights running at the Camden Jazz Cafe and ‘The Jacksons’ on their 50th anniversary tour in Spain. The title track ‘He’s No You’ and ‘Beautiful Confused’, are featured in season 2, episode 5 of The CW’s sci-fi television show ‘Pandora’ which aired on Sunday 1st November 2020.
