Cellz is an independent hailing from Munich, who holds a passion for jazz, hip-hop, soul and everything slotted in between. Making his name on the live circuit who is focused on contributing towards a more inclusive society through a more sustained way of life.

Blue Glass is a multifaceted artist from the Caribbean island of Antigua, and as a producer brings his own style of trip-hop and psychedelic sounds that are reminiscent of the waves and calm he has been surrounded by throughout his life. Together they have formed a project which expands upon both of their musical journeys and upbringings, and the result is something that will stop you in your tracks.

After their first release ‘Dream On’ back in January, a dreamy introduction to the pair which was featured in the likes of NOTION and Jazz FM, they have since then continued creating and collaborating, and their newest release ‘I Saw Her On The Beach’ is another wave of sumptuous jazzy, neo-soul textures. In this chilled, summer vibe of a track, the soundscapes reflect artists like Tom Misch, Jordan Rakei and Khruangbin, with their own personal explorative stamp.

Cellz’ soothing vocals and the flugelhorn played wonderfully by Johannas Mutter introduces the whole song, immediately immersing you in their bubbly atmosphere. Alongside Blue Glass’ floaty vocals and eloquent production, ‘I Saw Her On The Beach’ is a reminiscence of ‘a chance meeting by the ocean and a love that wasn’t meant to last.’ A real combined effort, drummer Simon Popp brings his soothing percussion and André Schwager lays down some sweet keys, who are among Munich’s finest session musicians, bringing a whole new dynamic to the track.

Full of dreamy melodies that were written by both, you can already hear all of the influences that brought these two together, and it will appeal to all lovers of jazz and way beyond. It sits outside of the spectrum, which is where Cellz x Blue Glass wants to be, and ‘I Saw Her On The Beach’ is just another example of their brilliantly off centre approach from this innovatively transcendent duo.
