‘Don’t Get My Hopes Up’ marks a shift in sonic direction for Chace, bridging the gap between EDM and a more R&B, trap and dance-influenced sound. The track combines deep synths with Chace’s fluid vocals, weaving earworm melodies over a delicately sparse dancehall-infused beat.

The single is accompanied by a darkly inventive music video, combining hand-drawn animation with murky, atmospheric visuals as Chace’s brooding screen presence takes the spotlight. A new Drum Machina House mix is also set to follow on 21st July, promising to give ‘Don’t Get My Hopes Up’ an amped-up rework.

As one of the most promising talents in China, the 24-year-old represents the next generation of Asian artists. As the founder of his own label Monti Ark, a music producer, singer & songwriter, DJ, and the frontman of mandarin, he melds multi-instrument ability from youth with his western influences to build his own sound.

Chace’s sleek electronic sound has already been supported by the likes of Yellow ClawMixmagDJ SnakeVogue, Dazed, Billboard and GQ. Just 24 years of age, he represents the next generation of Asian artists melding western influences with their own sound.

Following the success of his recent album, Belated Suffocation, which showcased Chace’s richly diverse musical stylings, the fast-rising Chinese star is expanding his sonic vision.

Fusing his signature electro-pop sound with elements of R&B, trap and dancehall, ‘Don’t Get My Hopes Up’ is an enticing taste of Chace’s evolving sonic palette.
