Oh’ is the first in a new whitelabel series from Dirtybird, exploring deconstructed beats and a range of genres thereabouts. You might be familiar with the label’s origins, in left of center bass and house music – this is what they seek to emulate in this EP and series.
Despite the multitude of Dirtybird tech-house hits, which have almost become a genre unto themselves, this left of center music is stuff Barclay has continued to champion via his Barclay Crenshaw alias and via his curation of the label’s Camp Out festivals through the years – introducing the likes of Eprom, DJ Krust, Special Request, JETS, Dillinja, Amp Fiddler, Sherelle, Nastia, Cut Chemist, Jhene Aiko, Ivy Lab and many many more to the label’s ever growing fan base.
Justin has been with the label for 10 years and over the past few has turned his attention towards harder and faster styles ie UK garage, juke, techno et al – with a recent release on Bristol’s Shall Not Fade and a forthcoming EP on Childs Play. These days, his sets are all about pushing people out of their comfort zones with high BPM club music, while still retaining a fun loving attitude that makes the forward thinking music more approachable for new fans.
