Live @ Canadian Music Week Toronto 8th & 9th June, The Paddock
Singapore based alt-indie trio Coming Up Roses are pleased to announce a brand new release with the arrival of ‘Would You Ever’, lifted from their forthcoming EP ‘Everything Is’ due this May, including a live performance at this year’s Canadian Music Week in Toronto on 7th June.
‘Would You Ever’ sees the band sit comfortably amongst their contemporaries. An emotive indie-pop anthem built up with breezy, uplifting textures and honed through singer Emily Sera’s unique, heartfelt delivery.
They say: “‘Would You Ever’ is about leaving the life that you currently live to pursue the life that you’ve always wanted, despite the things that you’ve gone through.” This is perhaps fitting as the band now seek to take a leap of faith by leaving their home of Singapore to pursue a music career abroad in the UK.
3 years on from their debut release ‘Waters’ – and facing the recent departure of their drummer Bruce Tan and the complete upheaval of the pandemic – Coming Up Roses release their long-awaited sophomore EP ‘Everything Is’.
Taking these shared experiences into account, the alt-rock trio cathartically distil the emotional rollercoaster of the past 3 years into 4 stage-ready songs, from the Sundays-inspired jangle of ‘Glass Stained Eyes’ to the wall-of-sound guitars on closer ‘Would You Ever’. With the EP being recorded over the course of the pandemic, the release of ‘Everything Is’ comes with a sense of respite and wistfulness.
Guitarist Lorenzo Romero says, “‘Everything Is’ is a compilation of songs that reflect on our exploration of ourselves and the world around us. We’re starting to find our place and develop that sense of belonging, and we’re excited for the road ahead.”
