Coolio’s sudden death in September 2022 shocked fans around the world. One year after Bodybangers and Lotus paid tribute to Coolio with their very own remake of “Gangsta’s Paradise”, French music producer Coopex is adding a touch of 2023 to it. His edit seamlessly blends the unforgettable melody and iconic lyrics of the original with innovative soundscapes and modern beats, illuminating the classic in an entirely new light.
“Gangsta’s Paradise” was originally part of the soundtrack for the Michelle Pfeiffer-movie “Dangerous Minds”. Celebrated with multiple awards, it also won a Grammy in the category “Best Solo Rap Performance” in 1996. The track kickstarted Coolio’s career on a global level and is one of the most played rap tracks to date. The remix of “Gangsta’s Paradise” is a homage to the past and simultaneously an ode to the future, exemplifying how music can endure through time and continuously reinvent itself.
The Bordeaux-based Teddy Yrius, better known as Coopex, is a French music producer born in 1998. He started to produce electronic dance music in early 2015 and has found his element in the Dance Pop scene. Coopex is passionate to work with like-minded artists to create a fresh and forward-thinking vibe of electronic dance music. Fast forward five years and the young Frenchman has collected more than 500 million streams across all streaming platforms and he doesn’t seem to stop there.

Music game. With more than 100 official remixes and several single and album releases the duo
generated over 150 million streams and 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Lotus is one of the up-and-coming DJanes in the dance genre with over 600,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. The German American already worked with artists like Darius & Finlay, Charming Horses, Jude& Frank, Stefy De Cicco and live superpower Timmy Trumpet, to name a few.
