Texas-based producer Dead returns to NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations label on November 22 with his latest single, “Ruthless/Cruel,” a track that underscores his presence in the heavier side of bass music. Based in El Paso, Dead has carved a distinct path within dubstep, blending elements of trench, riddim, and deep dubstep to create a sound marked by its dark and ominous intensity.

“Ruthless/Cruel” sets the tone with eerie melodies and distorted signal pulses that build an atmosphere of tension before giving way to a fierce drop. Raucous synth growls, clanging metallic percussion, and guttural vocal samples create a dense, industrial soundscape, showcasing Dead’s skill at balancing raw energy with precise, gritty textures.
