Acclaimed LA US Psychedelic Rock and Prog 4 piece Dream Phases make their hotly anticipated return to the UK as they head out on a nine date tour throughout November, on which they will be performing a number of new songs from their upcoming album ‘Phantom Idol’.
Having gained support across tastemaker press and built a strong following, the band continue to build upon their previous appearances at SXSW and multiple European tours.
Formed in the vibrant heart of the City of Angels’ neo-psychedelic rock scene, the band’s swirling sound captures the natural splendour and adventurous spirit of California. Drawing inspiration from legendary artists like the Byrds, the Beach Boys, and Elliott Smith, as well as more contemporary influences such as the Spiritualized, Wilco, and Autolux, the band’s sound encampases a warming 70s rock undertone whilst retaining a fresh and exciting modern edge.
The bands latest single ‘Velvet Knife’ showcases the bands blend of varying styles to create a unique psych-rock sound which encompasses elements of pop, indie, shoegaze and prog into cohesive and accessible songwriting. Blending washes of synth with tight drums and bass, the track opens with a buoyant and euphoric soundscape as the vocals glide above. As the track progresses the bands signature wall of fuzzy, modulation tinted guitars enter, showcasing the explosive intensity present in their renowned live shows.
Dream Phases’ live performances are known for their raw energy and commitment on stage, often enhanced with light shows and visual effects. Following a string of tastemaker press support (Brooklyn Vegan, American Songwriter, Psychedelic Baby Magazine, Shindig!) and radio play across the US, the band have impressed audiences worldwide, from their stirring SXSW performance in 2017 to two European tours.
Currently preparing for the release of their upcoming album ‘Phantom Idol’, the band have put together a collection of some of their most inventive writing and tight musicianship to date, truly capturing the depth and euphoria that the band are capable of.
