Well-known lo-fi artist eevee has teamed up with cliffe on their latest single, ‘so easy’, which has been released via eevee’s own Secret Souls imprint on the 17th of June. eevee herself has received support from tastemaker publications such as Noisey, BBC Entertainment, Mixmag, Roland Music, YourEDM, Inquirer Entertainment, The Mirror and Son Of Marketing to name a few, contributing to a play count of over 293 million across platforms. The artist has recently worked with Disney on their Lo-Fi Minnie compilation album. Born in Dordrecht, South Africa and based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, eevee has enjoyed performing around the world, finding herself having performed at the same festivals as Amon Tobin, Tipper and Plaid.
cliffe, a producer and songwriter from Yonkers, New York, arrived in the lo-fi hip hop scene with the release of his first full-length instrumental album isolation. Independently, cliffe has been supported by thebootlegboy on his Japanese Lofi HipHop playlist. Towards the start of 2021, cliffe ventured into writing and recording on top of his beats, all of which would be on his first album fully showcasing his vocals, released with Secret Souls. Since then, cliffe and eevee have collaborated several times including multiple singles and the collaborative album dead end. The two are on a path to make a new mark on the lofi genre, calling to mind other trailblazers such as Nosaj Thing, Shlohmo, Jinsang, and [bsd.u].
Irresistibly mellow, eevee and cliffe’s latest single is the essence of laid back Sunday afternoons as the listener floats through memories tinged in rose gold. ‘so easy’ is an escapist’s dream as each luring bassline meets the rhythmic cadence of unassuming vocals.
eevee tells us about the creation of the single: “I had a romantic mood in my head I wanted to portray with “so easy”. I sent cliffe a raw version and he added lyrics over it. I loved what he did, so I layered the drums you hear in the second verse over it. It all came together so well: this is my favorite beat we’ve made so far!”

Secret Souls was founded by Dutch producer and DJ eevee in 2019, as a means of sharing her love of music. sweeep coincidentally was the first artist to release on Secret Souls in 2019 which set the tone for the label. The label head, eevee, wanted a medium to share her favourite music as well as highlight different ambient and lo-fi tracks that have been glossed over in the electronic music community.
