The creation of ‘Attention’ came together effortlessly; Producer Cloubee played the beat during a studio session, and VIRTUO immediately began freestyling the chorus, setting the song’s bold, infectious tone. Seeking to balance the track, he invited friend and fellow artist Meron T to add her perspective. Together, they crafted a song that captures the electricity of first encounters.

ABOUT VIRTUO:
VIRTUO’s journey is shaped by a rich blend of artistic influences and personal experiences. Born in Clapham and raised in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, he grew up navigating the challenges of being a Black artist in a predominantly white area. His creative expression first emerged through spoken word poetry, tackling themes of race and identity—roots that still run deep in his music.
Music was always a part of his life, with a jazz singer father and a family legacy at Knebworth House. Early influences like American hip-hop, Akala, and George the Poet fed his passion for lyricism and storytelling. It wasn’t until he started producing music that he began drawing from London’s underground scene—incorporating drill, UK rap, and house into his evolving sound. Hailing from South London, vocalist and singer-songwriter Meron T’s soul filled sound blends R&B with neo-soul, fusing influences from her East African heritage and UK club culture. Her soulful sound, marked by warm vocal layers and intricate melodies, has captivated listeners, setting her apart in the scene.
