The latest producers to turn their homes into makeshift performance spaces are Fatboy Slim and Idris Elba, who will be streaming live on July 25 in partnership with Beatport.
Both house music connoisseurs have remained fairly active in isolation. Elba recently released the piano-infused single, “One Fine Day,” a collaboration with The Knocks, and Slim has kept a steady pace with his weekly Lockdown Mixtapes. In addition, the latter recently participated in Glastonbury‘s 50th anniversary antics, including a Horse Meat Disco remix of his classic “Sunset (Bird Of Prey),” and a DJ set for Shangri-La’s immersive Lost Horizon Festival.
Now, the two have joined forces in what is sure to be a groovy session of house and techno beat play. The performance will be streamed live via Twitch, Facebook, YouTube, and Mixcloud. A select few will get the chance to enter the “Rave Zoom Room” and dance on screen with the duo. The stream will raise money for Mind, a UK-based organization benefiting mental health.
